La Palette: The Chicago Palette – Ed Paschke

His palette is ethereal, like a soul caught in a web of creativity and genius. Paint captured within cells of his sponges, waiting to be placed on a canvas, or just removed. Short intentioned brush strokes of pigment taken directly from tubes, like toothpaste on a brush, placing and cleaning with one stroke at a time. History and time define his palette and images with brilliance, as if the sponges were dipped yesterday. Yet, dust provides reality and timeliness to portraits masterfully created by a visionary’s eyes. With every image, with every sponge, with every stroke of the brush, there is wisdom evident in the history of his art.
